i watched the oscars

ok so my attempt at live blogging was, well, an expirience. thanks to hot mess for stickin' with me.
what are peoples thoughts about the oscars last night?
i def liked parts of it and the general idea of what they were going for but it was so gd long. and i would not have stayed up to watch the rest if i didnt take a break and watch secret diary of call girl for a bit ( I LOVE THIS SHOW!) and allow my dvr to to build up so i could ff thru the super boring techincal awards.
i guess i'm pretty happy with everyone who won but i am a little slumdogged out (TALLY HO) and as much as i think kate winslet is a god i really kinda wanted anne hathaway to win, but that might be just because i didnt see the reader and i loved rachel getting married.
hugh jackman... not so bad. the number with beyonce was pretty awful but ill blame that on her fug self, but i did like the opening number. i also liked the whole former winners presenting to current nominees thing.
let me know what you thought of the whole thing in the comments.
ill be back later to discuss some stuff i watched this weekend, which i can't remember right now - which is strange cause im pretty sure all i did this weekend was watch tv.

  1. I thought Hugh Jackman was great. Def didn't like the Beyonce performance cause she stinks. Loved the whole presenting thing, how they gave out the awards in sections of production.

Didn't like how when they were presenting though they would show dual camera shots and in the back ground was Kung Foo Panda. Anyone know what I'm tlaking about?

  2. YES i do know what you are talking about - what's her name was giving a GREAT speech about anne hathaway, and there was kung fu panda trying to eat a dumpling. it was so distracting!
however, i did like how they did that. i liked the speeches a lot. BUT i also kind of missed clips of the actors.
i was actually really sad that mickey roarke (sp?) lost. i mean, i love sean penn and i thought his acceptance speech was actually pretty good - but i did see The Wrestler yesterday (HOLY sad movie) and it made me have the biggest soft spot for MR! and he was phenomenal in that movie. also - i love how he keeps talking about his precious ugly little dog. go slumdog - i loved that movie SO much and love the cast - they are all so cute and genuine. TALLY HO!!!!!!!
